The Louis Poulsen Toldbod 220 wall lamp in aluminium or black can be hung on the wall outside to radiate light downwards. The soft diffuse exterior lighting is caused by the matt white sprayed interior. With the Toldbod 220 aluminium/black you buy a stylish outdoor lamp that pleasantly illuminates your home and garden. Because of the closed elliptical shade you never look straight into the light source.

THE STORY BEHIND...
The Toldbod luminaires are designed on the basis of the PH elliptical reflector. This was Poul Henningsen's last attempt at street lighting design before his death. In his time, this luminaire did not get much further than a test for the municipalities in an urban area north of Copenhagen. The original elliptical reflector was designed for a 100 W incandescent lamp. Since Poul Henningsen's first attempt, the luminaires have changed enormously; the materials and surface treatments have undergone radical development. The design is very modest and therefore easy to fit into any architectural environment.
